August 11, 2009 – Vancouver prepares for 2010 Winter Olympics
YVR will be ready to receive the hundreds of thousands of visitors expected to come through the airport during the Winter Games period.
Team Eagle is pleased to have been selected to assist YVR in preparing for this exciting event. Oshkosh P-Series Multi-Purpose Chassis, M-B Companies Towed Sweepers and Wausau Plows were all recently delivered in preparation for the upcoming snow season and Olympic Games. This addition of equipment to the YVR fleet will enable the airport team to continue to keep their runways operational in all weather conditions. Team Eagle has also been chosen to provide additions and enhancements to YVR’s technology suite to help support more efficient and effective use of their airfield equipment.
Canada’s second busiest airport, YVR welcomed 17.9 million people in 2008, and is the Official Airport of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. Seventy airlines serve YVR, including scheduled carriers, charters, code share and cargo carriers that connect travelers to more than 130 destinations in Canada, the U.S. and around the world.
